how to prepare for campus placement?

Updated: Dec 18, 2021

Getting a good job in the campus placement drive is the main goal of every final year student and here we are going to guide you for campus placement preparation.

Preparation is the master key

“One important key to success is self-confidence. An important key to self-confidence is preparation.”

Here we are discussing 04 steps for campus placement preparation.

Self-analysis

A career is not just a way of earning money, a career is a way of living life. Talk to yourself, note down all your strengths and weaknesses. Understand your personality, interest, and life goals. Once you understand these things, then you‘ll be able to decide which industry/job roles suited you. It doesn’t matter how talented or hard worker you are, if you are in the wrong place (Industry or job roles) then your career will never reach that peak which you deserve. So self-analysis is really very important.

At Pharma-Revolution, we have an online career counseling system for Pharmaceutical Industry where your complete career exploration and guidance ll’ be provided by Industry experts.

Build the right resume

“The resume acts as a bridge between you and the prospective recruiter”

The importance of a resume can never be underestimated. So, to make the first impression, it is imperative that your resume stands out from the crowd first. It is up to you how you want to be remembered by the hiring manager. Since companies do not have that much amount of time to interview each and every candidate, they require resumes from candidates to select the best ones to work with them.

Prepare for aptitude test

The majority of companies conduct aptitude tests to filter freshers. Generally, it is the very first round of an on-campus pool drive. The aptitude test round could be either an online or a paper-based test.

Aptitude tests conducted during campus placements contain objective-type questions. So, preparing for such an aptitude test is not actually as tough as it seems. If you practice in advance, you can crack it with ease.

Prepare for group discussion

The GD panel is testing whether you know the topic well, are able to present your point of view in a logical manner, are interested in understanding what others feel about the same subject, and are able to conduct yourself with grace in a group situation.

  • Train yourself to be a good listener. Develop the patience to listen attentively.

  • Acknowledge that everyone has something valuable to say.

  • When speaking in a GD, your job is to articulate your point of view in a way that is easy for others to comprehend.

  • Inculcate the good habit of structuring your thoughts and presenting them logically.

  • Writing essays on a variety of topics is good practice for developing thought structure.

  • The only way to prepare is to read more, develop a keen interest in current affairs.

  • Seek opportunities to discuss these in groups.

  • Learn to respect others for what they are.

  • Learn to be open-minded and recognize the fact that people think differently about issues.

  • Train your mind to think analytically.

Prepare for the technical interview

Going back to the basics of whatever you have studied during the semesters is essential. A firm grip on fundamentals will give a boost to your confidence. It is necessary to note here that you must work to polish your concepts and ideas on the subjects you have studied during the academic years and understand the current scenario and requirements of the industry.
